Privacy
The short version: we collect what we need to send you coffee, and nothing else. We do not sell your information and we do not run advertising trackers.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the list or place an order.
- Your name and shipping address, if you place an order, so we can ship it.
- Basic, anonymous counts of things happening on the site: pages viewed, playlist cards scanned, orders placed. These carry no name, no email, and no identifier that points back to you.
- An approximate location for those counts: country, region, and nearest city, worked out from your connection by our hosting provider. We never see or store your IP address, and because nothing identifies you, these counts can tell us that nine people looked at a coffee from Atlanta and can never tell us who, or that the same person visited twice.
What we do not collect
We never see or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, and your card information goes to them, not to us. We do not use advertising cookies, cross site trackers, or third party analytics that profile you.
Who else touches your information
- Stripe, to take payment and handle refunds.
- ShipStation, to print a label and give you tracking.
- Resend, to send your receipt and shipping email.
- Supabase, which hosts the database holding your order.
Each of these gets only what it needs to do its job. None of them get your information for their own marketing.
If you join the list, you get an email when a new pressing drops. Every one of those has an unsubscribe link. It opens a page that asks you to confirm, because things other than you follow links in email, and once you confirm you are off the list straight away. Order confirmations and shipping notices are not marketing, so you get those whenever you buy something.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as we are required to for tax and accounting. List subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
Email info@akroasters.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Deleting an order record is limited by what we are legally required to retain, and we will tell you plainly if that applies.
